When Sasuke Uchiha was featured in the third chapter of Naruto’s manga, he claimed that his main goal in life was to kill a certain person. Later we found out that the person is Itachi Uchiha, Sasuke’s older brother.
Itachi had killed almost the entire Uchiha clan, leaving only Sasuke alive. Sasuke becomes obsessed with his desire for revenge. Find Orochimaru to be powerful enough to kill Itachi and take revenge on his clan.
After the two brothers have their fateful battle, we learn that there is more to Itachi’s actions than we previously suspected. The truth behind the Uchiha massacre reveals some of the dirty secrets that the Konoha elders had wanted to keep secret.
Today we are here to see the life of one of the most popular Naruto villains of all time.
Here are the 5 things you didn’t know about Itachi Uchiha .
1. The mysterious magic items
The Mangekyo Sharingan continued to gain new powers throughout Naruto. Originally it could trap people within illusions and create a black fire that was insatiable. Itachi displayed a new third power during his battle with Sasuke.
This power was called Susanoo and summoned an indestructible being made of chakra. Susanoo is a powerful ally but requires a large amount of chakra to maintain and its use damages the user’s body.
The version of Itachi of Susanoo is unique because it has elements of those without other Susanoos. He carried a magic sword ( Totsuka’s Sword ) that could catch those he strikes in endless sleep. It also carried a shield (the Yata mirror ) that protected the user from all forms of elemental damage.
The question of where Itachi found these items for his Susanoo was never answered. How could one find these items and equip them for an extension of their own free will?
2. The stamps of a hand
The ability to make one-handed hand stamps is a highly coveted skill in the world of Naruto, which only a few people possess.
It allows the user to potentially perform two jutsus at once, or use a weapon while creating seals. Only six characters are shown in Naruto capable of this feat (seven if you have a filler character from the anime). It was shown that Haku and Zabuza were able to make one-handed stamps, although this was still early in the series when the rules of the universe were still being developed.
The other characters that can make stamps with one hand are Naruto, Sasuke, Minato, and Itachi. We first see Itachi doing this during his performance when we see him fighting with Kakashi in Konoha. He is able to perform jutsus while holding a prepared shuriken in his other hand, which made Kakashi suspicious of his approach, as he was concerned about leaving himself open for a counterattack.
3. Itachi was the second best student of all time in the academy
One of the biggest mistakes Masashi Kishimoto made in telling Naruto’s story was how he handled the revelation of Naruto’s true fatherhood. Fans had suspected for years that he was actually the son of the Fourth Hokage.
This speculation was confirmed … in a random drunken conversation between Jiraiya and Tsunade. As time went on, the absence of information about Naruto’s parents seemed to make less sense, considering how many people became friends with them and how their influence in the village was apparently never discussed.
Itachi Shinden: Book of Bright Light revealed that the Fourth Hokage was the highest scoring student in the history of Konoha Academy. Itachi was the second-highest of all time. No one mentions this in the story, like almost every detail of the Fourth Hokage’s life before the revelation of the fact that he was Naruto’s father.
4. The waste of the Eye
Itachi could have been the most respected member of the Uchiha clan in terms of fighting ability, but he was not the most feared. Shisui Uchiha could be the most powerful member of the clan that ever existed.
This was due to Shisui’s ability to use a technique called Kotamatsukami. Shisui could use a genjutsu so powerful that it acted as true mind control. Kotamatsukami could influence people’s minds and give them false memories and experiences.
Danzo stole one of Shisui’s eyes before his death. Shisui gave his other eye to Itachi and then killed himself, hoping to awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan of Itachi.
Itachi implanted Shisui’s eye into a crow and placed it inside Naruto so that he could change Sasuke’s personality if he became evil. This was a great waste of the eye, considering that he could have used it on any of the main villains in history (such as Pain or Obito) and would prevent them from completing their evil plans.
5. Itachi was directly responsible for the murder of Naruto
Naruto’s story went out of its way to try to prevent its protagonists from killing people. This makes sense because it is published in Weekly Shonen Jump and you probably don’t want characters who go around massacring people every week. It makes less sense than ninja assassins never kill themselves in the line of duty.
However, Uzumaki Naruto technically took life during the series. When it was discovered that the Kakashi / Gai teams were chasing Sasori and Deidara, the Akatsuki members used a technique that allowed them to pour their chakra into another individual, which would make them a copy. This incredibly useful technique is never used again after this point.
Itachi takes control of a ninja named Yura. Naruto kills Itachi / Yura with a Rasengan, leaving his corpse on the ground for Zetsu to eat. This is one of the most callous moves made by Itachi in the series.
He could have let one of the other Akatsuki members fight Naruto, however, he decided to do it himself. This is one of the tests fans have used to suggest that Itachi’s redemption was a last-minute decision and was not planned correctly.
